Now RAR is available for Mac, but the Mac version doesn't offer a Graphic User Interface, so you have to use it from Terminal. RAR achieve better results than ZIP, its optimized algorythm can compress files and create smaller files because it uses different patterns depending on what it has to compress: video, image, text, etc. It can create autoexecutable files too.
